Challenge
K-It’s Lego-inspired sprinkler system, which cut sprinkler-head-replacement from 45 minutes to 2 minutes, had The Home Depot eager to bring it to market. But while the innovation was undeniable, the brand needed upgrading. Existing packaging lacked cohesion, the identity didn’t match the scale of the opportunity, and K-It needed a digital presence, including Amazon.com, to support national retail growth.

Market-Growing Innovation
K-IT is a family-owned and operated outdoor living innovator. They are committed to delivering innovative yard and lawn care solutions that save you time and money. Their products are designed for efficiency and convenience, so you can spend less time on maintenance and more time enjoying your outdoor space. The Challenge
K-It was already disrupting the professional landscaping world. Their Lego-inspired sprinkler system — cutting head replacement from 45 minutes to 2 minutes — had The Home Depot eager to list their products.
But the brand wasn’t ready for prime time. Some consumer packaging existed, but the overall identity felt fragmented. K-It needed a brand upgrade that could translate their professional credibility into a retail presence powerful enough to compete on-shelf and online.
At the same time, they needed to build a digital commerce engine, including a fully managed Amazon.com presence, to meet consumers wherever they shopped.
The Solution
We partnered with K-It to transform their innovation into a brand story retailers and consumers could both believe in:
- Brand Strategy: Clarified positioning around ruggedness, competence, and simplicity, rooted in values of loyalty, reliability, and integrity.
- Visual Identity: Delivered a cohesive brand system — logo usage, typography, packaging hierarchy, and color psychology — ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.
- Packaging Upgrade: Redesigned and rolled out a phased packaging system that met The Home Depot’s unique consumer requirements, balancing technical performance with simple, DIY-friendly clarity.
- Sales Enablement: Built retail assets, catalogs, and trade content to educate both professionals and homeowners on the K-It system.
- Amazon Launch & Management: Established and ran K-It’s Amazon storefront, optimizing copy, visuals, and sales strategy to extend their reach beyond retail shelves.
"Basically, when you work with them, be open to other things and other ideas. They give you other ideas, get your mind to think outside the box. You as the customer have the final say on what you do, but they're gonna let you think of other ways”
The Results
- Brand Guidelines: A complete system covering brand personality, logo rules, packaging, photography, and animation direction.
- Consumer Messaging: Simplified complex irrigation concepts into benefits homeowners cared about: “Elevate, Don’t Excavate.”
- Retail-Ready Packaging: Designed to explain “what it is” and “why it matters” in seconds, while aligning with Home Depot standards.
- Content Creation: From product animations to catalog storytelling, assets were designed to make professional-grade irrigation approachable.
- Digital Commerce: Amazon.com became an extension of K-It’s retail story — a platform for both sales and consumer education.
